Urban Design
Urban design encompasses the art and science of shaping the physical form and functionality of cities.
Street-level design a district can build. In phases.
Urban design sits between the land use plan and the tender drawing: block structure, plot frontage, right-of-way sections and public open space, resolved at a scale a district engineer can cost.
Once a land use classification is agreed, the argument moves to form — how deep the plots run, where the frontage falls, and how wide the right of way has to be before a commercial road can carry the traffic its classification permits.
We work in the same coordinate system as the land use plan, so a change to a zone boundary propagates through to the sections and the plot schedule instead of being redrawn from scratch and quietly diverging.
Public open space is specified as an obligation rather than an illustration. The drawings state what area is reserved, which phase it lands in, and who is responsible for it after handover.
